]]> We are incredibly proud to be named ‘Best Pub Stay’ and be included in the The Times and The Sunday Times 100 Best Places to Stay in the UK 2025.  To quote The Times “Everyone rubbed their eyes in disbelief when news broke of this posh dining pub in the South Tyne Valley where, usually, sheep do all the eating”.  It is an incredible accolade and a phenomenal achievement and a true testament to the hard work, creativity and dedication of our entire team, who consistently go above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome.  Huge credit has to go to our “preternaturally” Head Chef, Connor Wilson who champions the amazing local produce, sustainability and seasonality.  Always taking the lead from our dedicated Northumberland farmers and gamekeepers.

A huge thank you to The Times and The Sunday Times for shining a light on our wonderful hidden gem. And to our loyal and new customers who have supported us and travelled from far and wide to give us a try; we trust we didn’t disappoint and look forward to welcoming you again soon.

We were utterly delighted to be included, although they did refer to us as being in the Lake District, Cumbria, when in fact we are in Northumberland.  Right on the border with a CA postcode, which confuses many. ]]> We are utterly delighted and very proud to be national finalists in not one but two categories in the 2024 Great British Pub Awards.  This is great recognition of the dedicated team work that has been put in to create the establishment we are today.  Special appreciation has to go to our talented Head Chef, Connor Wilson and to Nick for orchestrating the ship.

All said and done, we couldn’t do it without you, our wonderful customers, to whom we’d like to say a big thank you.  We’d also like to congratulate the other finalists, we are chuffed to be in such great company.
